property a top priority. Currently there are 24 issued
patents in the United States and internationally, with
more pending or under development.
Because of Iron Grip's extensive intellectual property,
virtually every grip plate on the market is offered under
permission from Iron Grip. Iron Grip has agreements with
Impex, Inc., Hampton Fitness, Precor (originally licensed
to Fitness Products International for Icarian's JADE line),
ICON Health and Fitness Inc., and Ivanko Barbell Company.
Concerning weight plates, Iron Grip has numerous domestic
and international patents covering various design and
utility features found on its innovative line of Iron
Grip and IGX weight plates featuring integrated handgrips.
These patents cover weight plates with a variety of
design features, including various grip configurations,
number of grips, and perimeter shapes.
Iron Grip's intellectual property extends to other free-weight
equipment as well. They hold a patent on a Hexagonal
dumbbell handle, as well as a patent for dumbbells and
fixed barbells with eight, ten or twelve sides. Iron
Grip's Olympic bars also carry a patent for their unique, 6-sided collar.
An additional patent has been issued
for a line of revolutionary new dumbbell racks, barbell
racks and plate trees, designed to help facility managers
ensure that members keep free weights racked where they
belong.
