Iron Grip Enters Into One-Time License Agreement with Gill Athletics

October 29, 2002, Orange County, CA – Iron Grip Barbell Company has recently signed a limited license agreement with Gill Athletics for a line of Olympic weight plates with handgrips. The plates will be sold through Gill Athletics and its distributors.

Currently, Iron Grip Barbell Company manufactures its Iron Grip® and IGX(tm) Olympic weight plate lines, which are covered by various domestic and international patents including US patents 5,137,502 and D355,007. Iron Grip holds several other patents as well as domestic and international trademarks in various classifications. Iron Grip has additional patents pending as well as additional intellectual property under development.

Most of the grip plates presently on the market are sold pursuant to license or other agreement with Iron Grip. Iron Grip has such agreements with the following companies: Hampton Fitness Products, York Barbell Company, Fitness Products International (Icarian Fitness Equipment), and Ivanko Barbell Company. Iron Grip also holds a license agreement with Impex, Inc., for their MAX Olympic plate line and their Marcy Grip retail line of standard plates, both of which feature a 12-sided design and integrated handgrips.
