How do I…?
Q: How do I print the Totals Report?
Click the Grand Totals button from any page to view your current estimate. Once you have reviewed
and approved the totals, click Print Report to have the report printed on your default printer.
To select an alternate printer, choose File > Print from the menu at the top of the screen and follow
the prompts.
Q: How can I get a proposal and freight quote for the weights the Planner recommends?
Click the Grand Totals button from any page to view your current estimate. Once you have reviewed and
approved the totals, choose eMail Report from the report options at the top of the screen. The Planner will
automatically prompt you to save the current estimate, and then attach it to a new outgoing email message.
We recommend that you save each report to be emailed with a unique file name. Please note: you must have
your own e-mail account and be online to use this function.
Q: How can I find out more information on a certain piece of equipment?
While you are browsing through the each equipment section, you can link to each manufacturer's web site by
clicking on their logo at the top of the screen. Please note: you must have a connection the Internet to use this function.
Q: Can I print out pictures of each piece of equipment listed?
We recommend that you print images from each manufacturer's web site to ensure you have the most current images.
Iron Grip Equipment
Q: Does Iron Grip offer dumbbell racks or plate trees?
We do not manufacture or sell dumbbell racks, fixed barbell racks or weight trees. However, nearly every manufacturer
included in the eWeight Planner offers these items. In addition, most manufacturers provide optional plate storage on
many of their plate-loaded and free weight pieces, and we strongly encourage taking advantage of this optional storage
where available. Please refer to the equipment listings in the eWeight Planner for details on available racks and trees.
Q: Do your twelve-sided Urethane dumbbells fit into standard racks?
Yes, all Iron Grip and IGX dumbbells fit in standard dumbbell racks. In addition, all Iron Grip and IGX plates fit
standard plates trees, as well as all weight storage options (when available) on plate-loaded and free weight equipment.
Q: Why doesn't the eWeight Planner include 100 lb. plates? Can I still purchase them?
100 lb. plates are not included in the eWeight Planner as they are considered a specialty item and not recommended
for most equipment, other than low loading pieces such as a leg press. Iron Grip does offer 100 lb. plates in the Iron Grip
iron line, as well as 100 lb. plates in the IGX iron line. Iron Grip is also one of the few companies to offer 100 lb.
coated plates, in the IGX rubber plate line. If you would like to add 100 lb. plates to your totals, just let your
dealer or Iron Grip Account Executive know.
Q: How many different types of plates and dumbbells does Iron Grip offer?
Iron Grip offers a variety of equipment lines to meet your facility's specific needs. For more information on the available
options, visit the Iron Grip Equipment section of the eWeight Planner or visit our web site at www.irongrip.com.
Q: Do you have plates without handgrips?
These days, it's becoming more and more rare for any fitness facility to offer weight plates without handgrips. Plates
with grips are so much safer and easier to use than non-grip plates, that many users purposefully seek them out in
facilities that offer both kinds of plates! In fact, the majority of free weight manufacturers today now offer some
type of grip plate (in most cases under license or other agreement with Iron Grip.)
Strength Equipment and Recommendations
Q: What if a piece I'm looking for isn't listed?
Iron Grip strives to keep the eWeight Planner current, and it fact, we update the Planner on a regular basis with
input from the participating manufacturers. We are continually in contact with those involved in the Planner, and
we will add new pieces as they are submitted by the manufacturers. In addition, customers are welcome to submit
requests to have equipment or manufacturers added that may not be included on the current version.
We will be updating the eWeight Planner with new equipment frequently, and we will be upgrading the software
from time to time. Please check our site frequently for updates at www.irongrip.com, or sign up to be on our mailing
lists to receive e-mail notification of available updates.
We welcome any feedback on the Planner, and encourage customers and manufacturers to participate in the development
and improvement of this program. Email us at info@irongrip.com with any suggestions or comments.
Q: How did Iron Grip arrive at the recommended weight for each piece?
Iron Grip worked closely with the manufactures involved in the eWeight Planner to arrive at recommendations based primarily
on the amount of weight required to provide a wide range of resistance options, and allow the chosen piece to be utilized
effectively by a variety of users. Equipment design and functionality were also carefully considered, as were weight
storage options where available.
Placing An Order
Q: Do I need to contact Iron Grip directly to place an order for my free weights?
Not necessarily. You have the option to place your order through Iron Grip or any authorized Iron Grip dealers. The majority
of the manufacturers represented in the eWeight Planner are authorized to sell Iron Grip equipment, so you can consolidate
all of your strength equipment ordering. Please contact an Iron Grip Account Executive at info@irongrip.com for more details.
Q: Do I have to order the exact quantity of plates that the Planner recommends?
No, the quantities indicated by the eWeight Planner are simply suggestions. The Totals Report should help to provide
facility owners and managers with carefully considered recommendations, based upon a wide variety of criteria. Ultimately,
the individual making the purchasing decision (in conjunction with his or her dealer) should consider all important
criteria, including type of facility, customer base, facility size, future growth, budget constraints, etc., and make
their decision based on their own knowledge and understanding of their needs. The eWeight Planner is designed to assist
in the free weight purchasing decision, to streamline and standardize the process.
Q: The Iron Grip price list indicates that I should order my weight plates in multiples of certain pre-packed quantities,
but the Planner has recommended a quantity that doesn't match those numbers. Which one is correct?
Iron Grip Iron Olympic plates and IGX Iron and Rubber Olympic plates are pre-packed in certain boxed quantities: 2.5 lb.
plates come 12 to a box, 5 lb. plates come 6 to a box, and 10, 25, 35, and 45 lb. plates come two to a box. Because the
Planner makes its recommendations based on a variety of equipment choices, your totals may not match up with these pre-pack
multiples of 12, 6 and 2. We suggest that you customize the Planner's recommendations for each plate size by rounding either
up or down, depending on your facility's specific needs. Because Urethane plates are not pre-packed, they can be shipped in
any quantity and you will not need to modify the Planner's recommendations.
Q: Do I have to order this quantity of plates all at once?
No, the quantities indicated by the eWeight Planner are merely suggestions, and can be split into multiple orders, or
adjusted up or down at any time. Please note however, that freight costs are generally more per pound on small orders than
on large orders. Splitting orders up will often result in substantially higher freight charges than consolidating orders
into one large shipment.
